About UK Magic Studios

UK Magic Studios is a UK-based online shop supplying professional magic and mentalism props to working performers. It is run by Pete James, a professional close-up magician and member of The Magic Circle, and every order ships from stock held in London.

Who runs UK Magic Studios?

Pete James, professional magician and owner of UK Magic Studios, at the Alakazam Magic Convention 2026 — Pete James at the Alakazam Magic Convention, 2026

I’m Pete James. I have been performing close-up magic and mind reading professionally for more than 15 years, at over 500 weddings, corporate events and private parties across London, Kent, Surrey and the rest of the UK. I am a member of The Magic Circle and an Associate of the Inner Magic Circle (AIMC). You can see my performing work at petejamesmagic.co.uk.

That matters for the shop because I only want to sell props that hold up in front of a real audience. The products here are tools for working magicians and mentalists, chosen by someone who performs for a living.

Our relationship with Black Box Magic Creations

I worked on the Black Box Magic Creations stand at the Blackpool Magic Convention in 2026, demonstrating products such as Cosmos, NOVA and Mental Voice 2 to other magicians. I have continued working with Black Box Magic since then, for two reasons: so that UK customers have someone local to turn to for help with their products, and so that orders arrive quickly.

UK dealer for GRUM

UK Magic Studios is a UK dealer for GRUM, the range of wallets, hankies and utility props created by Ari Phillips. That includes the GRUM Classic leather wallets such as the BABU Wallet Pro and Mullicari Wallet, along with Ringo Hanky, ANYGO Hanky Pocket, SC2KR and QUICKDRAW.

Meet us at UK magic conventions

I aim to attend the UK’s magic conventions, so you can see the products in person and ask questions face to face. So far in 2026 I have attended the Alakazam Magic Convention, The Magic Circle Convention and LADs.

Coming up, UK Magic Studios is due to have a stand at The Session in January 2027 and at the Blackpool Magic Convention in February 2027.

Why buy from UK Magic Studios?

UK stock, fast delivery. All stock is stored in London, so orders are sent from within the UK and are not shipped from overseas.
Customer service from a performer. If you have a question about a product before or after you buy, you are talking to someone who knows the products first-hand.
A curated range. Alongside Black Box Magic and GRUM, we stock playing cards and accessories, our own UK Magic Studios products such as custom-date UK Lotto tickets, and a growing selection of tricks from other creators.
